About Me
I am Latvian composer Aldis Pro (Aldis Progulbickis), I was born in 1963. 10 years ago when I had an essential turn in my life I started to compose music. During 10 years I have written about 300 songs in different styles – pop, rock, choir music, spiritual music, songs for children and one lyrical love duetmusical as well as 2 ballads in English. I am sympathizer of lyrical romanticism’s school. My favorite composer, except classics, is A.L.Webber, as well as Latvian grand-maestro Raimonds Pauls (www.raimondspauls.lv). I am not imitating anyone, intuition is leading me in my writing and I am „painting” text or theme in music. I am not distinguished performer, arranger (I do not have proper technique) and vocalist, my only trump is MELODY. Time goes and styles change, but melody always takes listeners hearts, it is played encore, etc.
I am aware that probably never I will perform on the stage because I have problems with my health. I have come to the conclusion that I will be a composer who works at home, stays almost anonym and offers his music for sale to performers who need some melodic hits for their music albums. Of course there are some things which I do not sell for any money but it applies to choir music and musicals. I would be glad to fulfill some orders abroad if someone would get to know my existence and skills. For example, I would be glad if my classical Ave Maria in Latin could be sang by popular opera singers (especially Andrea Bocelli) because music prominences have told me that it is worth doing it.
The second thing which I want to gain by creating this web page is to become noticeable for rich people or patrons of music who would be ready to invest money in order to support my talent because I live in very poor conditions (I even do not have money to record any song in original arrangement). It could be called creative grant or something like that. It is not possible in Latvia, culture is left without investments etc. negations, but in the West there are still people who support artists and take care of them. If we remember good number of classics from 18th and 19th centuries became popular only because of benefactors financial support and help in finding creative contacts. It is My HOPE.
In this home page I propose some of my songs and their instrumental demo versions. They all are registered in Copyright & Communication & consulting Agency Latvian Authors Association, which is official brand in the world. But first of all I am the main person who determines what to do with my music. I can make an official contract with managers or producers with concrete conditions. You can write me, I have a good translator who will gather all information.
